By the time I walked the graduation line
at Northwest in ’76, I was already
pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in
Yermo, CA. I moved from pastor to
middle grade day school teacher in
January, ‘77 and have been teaching
mostly middle school since. I have a CA
Multiple Subjects Credential, and
completed my DRE from Golden State
School of Theology in ’99 and my Th.D.
in ’04.
My wife,
Karen was a kindergarten teacher for
years and switched to principal of Faith
Christian Learning Centers 15 years ago http://www.FaithChristianOakley.com
. In the last 12 years I have lived in
Asia six summers teaching English and/or
Christian Education I just arrived
from my most recent trip to Du’an, China
the end of July 2005.
I am the Registrar at Golden State
School of Theology,
http://www.goldenstate.edu
and enjoy mentoring students across the
world. While I have several titles, my
favorite is Grandpa. We have two
children. Joy has given us two
grandchildren, Jeremiah, 9 and Julia
almost 3.
We make our home in Oakley, CA. and are
hoping to be back in the Pacific
Northwest celebrating Eastgate’s 50th
Anniversary the first weekend of
October.
Lord bless,
Don Lyles
