Bruce Wood

Bruce Wood was a typical product from the California life style during the 1950's and 1960's. This life style was combined with an apathetic attitude about life; he was interested only in pursuing good times, sports and ski patrol work at Mammoth Mountain, CA. Four years in the Air Force enabled him to obtain G.I. benefits for later schooling. However, he believed he was just an animal, with no moral or ethical absolutes for twenty-six years before receiving Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1975. On a personal note he says,

I was "brainwashed" with evolution in the Los Angeles public school system, believing that I was just a product of goo-to-you-by-way-of-the-zoo. God did not exist, and the Genesis creation was a myth. I remained a diehard evolutionist for twenty-six years, until I received the Creator as my personal Savior (John 1). Immediately thereafter, a serious study of creation and evolution convinced me that evolution had no scientific support.

Bruce has applied subsequent creation research and theological studies to a number of creation evangelism ministries. He has been a pastor and a pastor/principal of a K-12 Christian school. Later, he taught evangelism, apologetics, and theology part time at Southern California Bible College and Seminary for seven years.

In 2001 Bruce was employed by the Institute for Creation Research (ICR - www.icr.org). He fills three positions: Field Administrator (seminars, conventions, and other ICR events); Public Information Officer (answering emailed questions about theology, creation and evolution); tour guide in the ICR museum. He has also presented four (non-ICR) all-day Saturday creation seminars in Las Vegas and San Diego.

Bruce holds two degrees from Christian Heritage College, CA (BA - English; BS - education). He also holds a masters degree in Biblical Studies from Northwest Baptist Seminary (1986). He is currently working on a master's degree in Science Education from the ICR Graduate School.

Bruce has several ways to relax, including traveling, bicycling and mountain-biking, golf, photography, working on Christian novels, and computer games (veg-time). He also assists in teaching an adult Sunday school class and hands out special creation-evangelism tracks (using his words and graphics) on the ocean boardwalk. Never married (but close), Bruce responds to questions about his single status by saying, "I have submitted my request to the proper Authority above me. I await God's choice in God's timing, and remain content by following God's leading."

Best wishes,

Bruce Wood
