ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Northwest Baptist Seminary seeks to accept only
students who desire
God's leading in their lives. Prospective students
should desire to develop
their spiritual lives and skills for ministry in
order to be prepared for any
ministry to which God may lead.
Northwest Baptist Seminary admits students of any
gender, color,
national and ethnic origin to all the rights,
privileges, programs, and
activities generally accorded or made available to
students at seminary.
NBS does not discriminate in the administration of
its admission and
education policies, financial scholarships, and aid
programs.
ADMISSION STANDARDS
CHRISTIAN CHARACTER
Applicants for admission must testify that they are
personally trusting
in Jesus Christ as Savior and are endeavoring to
live in submission to the
will of God as manifested in obedience to the Word
of God. Standards of
Christian conduct required of students at NBS are
set forth in the Student
Handbook.
DOCTRINAL AGREEMENT
Applicants for admission must testify that they are
in essential
agreement with the doctrinal statement of this
seminary.
ACADEMIC
PREPARATION
Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree,
or its full
academic equivalent, to be admitted into one of the
graduate degree
programs. Others may enroll in one of the
certificate programs or as nondegree
students.
PRE-SEMINARY EDUCATION
Applicants for admission to Northwest Baptist
Seminary should take
college courses which provide for an understanding
of people and nature,
an acquaintance with the culture and ideas of
contemporary society, and
the ability to communicate clearly and accurately in
the English language.
Undergraduate programs should include courses in
English grammar,
composition, literature, speech, general philosophy,
logic, psychology,
natural science, and history-especially ancient and
world history.
Students who desire to enroll in Greek or Hebrew
syntax and exegesis
must pass an entrance examination in that particular
language.
POLICY
FOR ADMISSION OF NON-BACCALAUREATE STUDENTS
The percentage of special (non-baccalaureate)
students in the student
population shall not exceed fifteen percent of the
total number of active
students. Active students are those who have been
officially admitted and
who have not failed to register for the last three
consecutive quarters.
READMISSION TO THE SEMINARY
Students who do not register for three consecutive
quarters must apply
for readmission before matriculating again. The
regular application form
must be updated along with transcripts of additional
work taken elsewhere.
Students are subject to the requirements of the
catalog and its programs in
force at the time of reentry.
